Grand Event a huge success!

 

Thanks to everyone who made this event a huge success. We are so appreciative of the Grand Event Committee, our fabulous speakers, our sponsors and the incredible women who attended this event from all over the country. We toast all of you!


An Interview with Michaela Rodeno
The scene was the late 80’s, in the midst of a hostile social environment for wine with a rising surge of attacks on alcohol--new warning labels, fetal alcohol syndrome scares, drunk driving campaigns and grade school education programs that associated alcohol with illicit drugs.

A small but powerful group of women in the wine industry called a meeting to which there was a strong response. Michaela Rodeno, then St. Supèry’s new CEO, was one of those leading the charge.

Women for WineSense has joined the digital bandwagon with a presence on Facebook and LinkedIn. Increasingly, we will be using these sites to communicate with members and people interested in our organization. The Facebook page will provide updates on the upcoming Grand Event as well as links to chapters that have a page or group on Facebook. WWS chapters can take advantage of a ‘turnkey curriculum’ that makes it easy to present wine education programs. Full story.

 

New Column! Wine and Health
As a new addition to the WWS National Newsletter, this Wine and Health column by Carol Blackman will give you updates on research and connections to medical and other health professionals who are focused on various aspects of the wine and health discussion. Some news is reported in the popular media and other news will come directly from experts working on and interpreting scientific studies. Read more. 

 

"How to" Guide for Professional Roundtables Available

Women for WineSense offers Roundtables--small groups of WWS professional members who are in similar fields in the wine industry, where they can increase their professional knowledge and skills through regular meetings with peers. Chapter Administrators can access a How to guide to establishing and running a Roundtable, in the Documents section of the WWS website.
