WWS NYC ChapterWomen For WineSense NYC Chapter - FABULOUS!!!

You definitely want to be a member of this chapter!  We do the most fun things, we are the top wine organization for wine professionals to connect and build your career with.  We are also the very best wine organization for aficionados who enjoy wine and want to take their wine experiences to a new level.  


In December, we teamed up with Melanie Young Communcations to put on a fabulous event at the city's most exciting wine venue, City Winery, and our upcoming Sip and Shop will be a fabulous, fun event - discounts on chocolate for WWS members.

 R. Veronique Fitzgerald - President

 

Vee Fitzgerald - WWS NYC Chapter Membership Chair
R. Veronique Fitzgerald, or as she is known by many, Vee, is a recent recipient of the Wines and Spirits Education Trust Diploma of Wines and Spirits (D.W.S.), and is gunning for the Master of Wine.  Veronique has developed her passion for wine through traveling and living abroad in the UK and New Zealand for a cumulative 3 years with her husband Chef Shehu Fitzgerald. Veronique has led seminars on various topics at wine events in New York City and around the northeast, as well as participated in Women for WineSense events on both the east and west coasts. She lives in Staten Island, NY and is opening a wine retail store and wine consultancy in the tony Stapleton neighborhood of Staten Island called wineLIFE while she serves as President of the New York City chapter of Women for WineSense.  She has a 1 year old daughter, Ché Elizabeth.

Ilona worked as a Human Resources Manager for 15 years for several European Banks before starting her carrer as a Financial Advisor. Since,1997 , she has been self employed as a Registered Representative with World Financial Group. She enjoys helping people become financially savvy and get on their Roadmap to Financial Freedom. Her goal is to "create a business big enough to sustain itself and create passive income to fulfill her dream of creating an Orphanage in the Domincan Republic and a legacy for generations to come".

Where and how frequently do you meet?
The New York Chapter of Women for WineSense meets once a month at a designated restaurant or event space. Our events include Speakers from the wine industry, wine tastings, food and networking.

The New York Chapter of Women for WineSense meets once a month at a designated restaurant or event space. Our events include Speakers from the wine industry, wine tastings, food and networking.

 

What types of events have you held?
Our events have included: ~An American Pinot Noir tasting with Michael Bonadies of the Myriad Restaurant Group and author of Sip by Sip Wine Book. Held at Pulse Restaurant in Rockefeller Center.~South African wine tasting accompanied by African food at Queen of Sheba, New York's foremost Ethiopian Restaurant. Leading the tasting was Rachel Lovett, a member of Women for WineSense, and the Wine Educator for 57 Main Street Wines, a leading importer from the Cape wine region.~Dinner at the Institute of Culinary Education to celebrate fine American wines and foods. Guests enjoyed a three-course meal which was paired with wines from some of America's finest wine-going regions, such as Napa, Washington and Long Island. Food & wine writer and television personality, David Rosengarten was our guest speaker.

 

What was your most successful event?
Our most recent successful event was "Wines Under Ten Dollars" with guest speaker Joshua Wesson- owner of Best Cellars. Guests enjoyed delicious wine and food pairings, and the forum was both entertaining and educational.
