EVENT DESCRIPTION:
“Georges Duboeuf Design and Wine”
Women for WineSense NYC teamed up with WJ Deutsch and M. Young Communicationss to bring the "Is Fashion Your Bag?" national design competition to life at the Design and Wine Event, which was held at City Winery on a wintery Saturday afternoon earlier this month.
While we experienced a reawakening of the dormant kid in all of us by trying our hand at arts and crafts, designing a fairy tale wine tote for Georges Duboeuf, we enjoyed sipping on the 2008 vintages of GD's Beaujolais Villages and Mâcon Villages and nibbling on delicious hors d'oeuvres from City Winery's kitchen. In the event-day design competition, Manisha's good friend Lisa, who traveled all the way from Boston to partake in the event, walked away with a case of wine for her winning design, which incorporated the story of a young Georges making wine deliveries on his bicycle. Second Runner up Arlyn, our newest returning member, took home a mixed six pack.
A small group of members, including yours truly, convened afterward at nearby Aquagrill Restaurant for appetizers and drinks (delicious Peppered Tuna Carpaccio, glasses of Schneider Vineyards Cabernet Franc Le Breton from the North Fork of Long Island and more!) as the season's first snow descended on a busy, holiday-giddy New York City.
