The Seattle Chapter of Women For WineSense Invites You to

Cote du Rhone and Provence

with

Nick O’Connell

Monday, February 10th, 2014, 6:30pm

at

Belle Epicurean Madison Park

3109 E. Madison Street

Seattle, WA 98112

Our guest for a bit of the South of France will be multi-talented Nick O’Connell. Nick is a winemaker, novelist, nonfiction writer, writing teacher, and mountaineer. He has been making wine under his own Les Copain label for more than 20 years, producing about 80 cases for friends and personal enjoyment. As a writer, he has been featured in Wine Spectator, Gourmet, Food and Wine, Saveur, Condé Nast Traveler and more. This coming May Nick will be leading a writer’s group to Provence, focusing on an introduction to writing about travel, food, and wine, with that beautiful part of France as inspiration. The trip will include a visit with Patricia Wells at her home overlooking the town of Vaison. For Nick's interview with Patricia, click on the link below. For our event, Nick will talk about the region and why it inspires him, and we will sample a variety of wines he has chosen that are examples of what he loves about wines from Cote du Rhone and Provence.

We will be gathering at Belle Epicurean Madison Park, a locally owned French cafe and patisserie created in 2005 to bring an authentic French experience to Seattle. Next door to the Cafe is their shop, Provisions, filled with "the things every foodie loves in a well-stocked pantry". Ingredients, wine and much more can be found there, including books on French food and wine. If you are able to arrive before the shop's 6pm closing time, you might want to stop in and take a look. You never know what you may find that you can't live without!
