Malbec in Washington State IS a grape on the rise. A mere 700 tons were harvested in 2007, but in 2014, 2200 tons were taken to our state's wineries to be made into Washington Malbec. While Cabernet Sauvignon definitely leads the pack at 42,200 tons, Malbec is the 5th most planted red varietal in our vineyards. Limited, yes, but so worth seeking out. And so worth enjoying - which is what this evening is all about. Dinner will be paired with Malbec, of course!
Our host, Ray Bloom, owner of North City Bistro and Wine Shop, is gathering up tantalizing Washington Malbecs, all hand-picked to show what our state has been up to with the varietal. Ray has been selling wine to Seattle area restaurants and retail shops with Vinum Wine Importing and Distribution since 2006. He and his wife, Sharon, purchased North City Bistro and Wine Shop in January 2014, allowing Ray to combine his love of both wine and music in one charming location. The Bistro is an intimate venue for an incredible variety of musicians, with performances at least four times a week. Jazz and Blues are the sounds that bring people together at this Shoreline gem, with great food and wine to round out the experience! Ray sums it up best: "North City Bistro & Wine Shop is a labor of love. Love of good food, wine & cocktails, good music and good times with friends and family".

Your check must be received 3 days after your RSVP is made. After that time your space will be released.
