California’s wine and agricultural history are intertwined with the Mexican experience. The fingerprints of migrant workers, as well as their vibrant and rich customs, can be found across the state’s wine regions and landscape. Over time, some of these migrant families set roots in their own California vineyards and established their own wine brands thereby bringing their knowledge, culture and passion to America’s table.
In honor of this rich heritage, Women for WineSense Los Angeles wants to celebrate in Día de los Muertos and highlight wines not only produced by Mexican American women in Napa, but also introduce our members and friends to the emerging wine scene in Mexico’s own Valle de Guadalupe. The evening will include a special guest appearance by Mexican-American, Napa-based vintner, Lola Llamas.
