A Visit to Northern Italy - Exploring the Wines of Piedmont


Join us March 9, 2021 for a tour of Italy’s most diverse wine region, Piedmont. Located in the far northwest of Italy, Piedmont boasts more native and indigenous grape varietals than any other region. During our virtual visit we’ll learn about Piedmont’s history and viticulture, and taste five wines made from its most important grape varietals; white varietals, Cortese and Arneis, followed by red varietals, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto.

Dallas chapter member, Mary Stipo Potter, and Gina Stipo, will lead our journey through Piedmont. Owners of Ecco La Cucina Culinary Tours in Italy, sisters Mary and Gina founded their business over twenty years ago, sharing the best of Italy’s food and wines with small groups of like-minded travelers. Piedmont has long been their favorite region both for its beauty and the diversity of its wine and cuisine. We are fortunate to have them guide us through Piedmont, its history, wine and food. 

We'll provide wine tasting kits with a small pour of the wines we will taste. The tasting kits need to be picked up at one of three locations. You will pick a location when you register, Colleyville 76034, Dallas 75208 or Plano 75093.

Reservations: No reservations will be accepted after Saturday, March 6, 2021.  Payment is required in advance by credit card or check and is non-refundable. If paying by check, your payment should be payable to “WWS” and sent to WWS c/o Tamara Mattison, 12240 Pecan Forest, Dallas, TX 75230-2495. Payment must be received by the date of the event.

Please note if you are a non-member registering for this event and paying with a credit card, you will be charged a small fee for the credit card transaction. This fee will appear as a separate line item on your credit card statement.
