FLX: Bordeaux 101

There must be a reason Bordeaux has been one of the most popular wine region for thousands of years.  We are going to explore the many reasons why. Could it be the eight thousand producers?  The seventy five million cases of wine produced there each year? Let's face it, Bordeaux can be intimidating.  Who has picked up a wine list and said - what does this even mean?

Women For WineSense Finger Lakes Chapter will explore the region, taste some delicious wine and find out why Bordeaux is so special on Monday, October 18th from 6:30 to 8:30 at Union Block in Penn Yan, NY.  Please join our speaker, Donna Schlosser-Long as she meanders her way through one of the greatest wine regions in the world in true Donna-style; she has a way of explaining complicated information in a fun and friendly way.  Let's take the intimidation out of French wine, shall we?

Participate in our bottle pull and help fund our educational programs!

Women For WineSense believes that wine enhances and enriches everyday life.  The organization provides women and men with unbiased information about the cultural heritage, social and health effects of moderate wine consumption as part of a healthy lifestyle.  WWS is committed to offering educational programs and networking opportunities to wine enthusiasts and industry professionals.

The Finger Lakes Chapter formed an annual scholarship program in the fall of 2016 with the intent of providing support to an eligible chapter member for educational advancement in the field of wine education.  It is awarded based on an applicant’s willingness to pursue an educational program of their own design with the goal of giving back to the chapter by sharing the knowledge obtained during that process.

We enhanced our educational program offerings starting in 2019 with the Finger Lakes Chapter Educational Grant Program.

At our October event we will be having our semi-annual bottle pull that helps fund our scholarship and grant programs.

You will have an opportunity to buy a blind bottle worth $15 or $25 at our event, so be sure to bring cash or your checkbook to join in the fun!
