The Seattle Chapter of Women For WineSense Invites You To Our

5th Annual Urban Winery Event Featuring

Mercer Wine Estates

6235 Airport Way South, Suite 2

Seattle, Washington

Wednesday, February 21, 2018, 6:30pm

Mercer Wine Estates has deep roots in the soil of Eastern Washington. The family has been farming Horse Heaven Hills since 1886, and they are now in their 4th generation of Mercers tending and caring for the land. Their past and present sustainability and conservation of the land, and their commitment to carrying that forward, is a defining goal of the family. Most of the grapes used to create Mercer Wine Estates wines are from their own family vineyards, which range from 5 to 904 acres. The smallest vineyard is the 5-acre Big Teepee, which produces their Estate and Reserve Cabs. Their largest is Eagle & Plow at 904 acres. This vineyard is where Block 93 is found, a 1-acre block of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes used in their Eagle & Plow ultra-premium wine with all profits going to charity. Hosting our group will be Richard Bond, General Manager of the tasting room, and the Seattle face of this Eastern Washington winery.  Their artsy, industrial-style tasting room opened in June 2017, so it is a very new addition to Seattle’s growing urban winery scene. Richard will share a selection of Mercer wines, including the wines he has picked to pair with our dinner.
