Format: Panel Discussion
Our panel discussion will be comprised of Lorraine Hems, Lynn George and Mary Burden. They will share their stories on the founding of our Chapter and how WWS helped to change them personally and professionally. The discussion will be led by WWS Rochester's Vice President, Jen Spencer.

ABOUT OUR PANELIST:
Lorraine Hems has been involved in the wine and spirits industry for over 35 years. She has experience in retail, wholesale and education. She is a Lecturer of beverage courses in the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She authored a workbook, Passport to the World of Wines in 2012, and was involved in the opening in 2006 of the New York Kitchen (formally New York Wine & Culinary Center). She continues to teach there.
Lorraine helped start the Rochester chapter of Women for WineSense in 1999, served as co-President, presented, and received their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012
Mary Perrone Burden
Mary coordinated the founding of WWS of Rochester, starting in 1997 with Andrea Colaruotolo O'Neill and Lorraine Hems. She is a huge wine enthusiast who made life-long friends in the process.
Mary is the Facilities Manager/Study Club Coordinator/Events Planner & Marketing for Progressive Implantology & Periodontics for the last 14 years.
Lynn’s love of wine started with the first sip of Annie Green Springs when she was about 17, but didn’t transform into a serious love affair until she was thrown into managing my parents tiny Liquor store in Churchville, NY. At that point our top selling wine was Carlo Rossi Chablis! Yea right Chablis. Lynn quickly learned from the parade of Liquor salesmen that came to sell wine to them, that there really was a Chablis, that came from France, and Carlo Rossi, did not resemble it at all. At this point she threw herself into learning anything and everything about the huge world of fermented grapes.
Lynn now works for one of the most powerful woman in the California wine industry, Barbara Banke, Owner of Jackson Family Wines. It is amazing how things are so incestuous in this business, she is again selling KJ as she did with her first street job with Italian and French, and now managing NY and VT to continue to work with this prestigious brand.

In order to keep costs low for all members, we are unable to offer refunds after event registration closes. If you find yourself unable to attend after registration closes, we encourage members to find someone to take their place. When an event reaches capacity, we do keep a waiting list. Please let Lynne Perry (email@example.com) know if you are unable to attend an event. In the case that there is a waiting list, we will contact the next person on the list and refund your registration fee if we fill your spot.

To make registering easier here are a few helpful hints:
- All registrations must be made via the WWS website.
- The website contains information on prices, registration deadlines and payment requirements.
- Send your check to the address listed in the event description on the WWS website - **Do NOT send your check to the CA address**
- Are you a non-member who has attended before? Look for the 'Have you previously registered for an event or are you on our mailing list?' (above 'Select Registration Type" box.) Click on the 'Click here to search' link and follow the directions.
- To avoid duplicate registrations, hit the 'Complete Registration' button only ONCE.
