Our 2009 Women in Wine panel features INNOVATIVE WOMEN OF WINE.  It's an annual educational and professional development event, and always sells out...and here's why!

  • Eileen Crane - President and Founding Winemaker, Domaine Carneros: Often referred to as America’s Doyenne of Sparkling Wine, Eileen Crane has spent more than 30 years in the industry. This makes her the most experienced Sparkling Winemaker in the United States. As Domaine Carneros' founding winemaker and president, Eileen is equally at home in the world of food and fine dining.

  • Kathy Benziger - Partner, Director of Customer Development - Benziger Family Winery: Kathy's experience in this premier family-owned winery started when she was in high school. We're looking forward to hearing her view from inside and outside of the winery, as she also worked with Hoffman Distributing and held regional sales positions with her family's business and is now back in Sonoma.

  • Rebecca Vlandis - PR Manager - Icon Estates: Rebecca will get us into Wine 2.0 communications, PR, blogging and customers dialogues from her current experiences at Icon (Franciscan, Simi, Mount Veeder and Paso Creek) and past stints at Domaine Chandon, The Hess Collection and Sutter Home.

    • Stay tuned for final speakers list, featuring industry leaders in winemaking, viticulture, strategic marketing and PR/Wine 2.0.

  • Moderated by Kathleen Hill (author of the Hill Guides, columnist with the Sonoma Sun, program host at KSVY FM), members of the audience will also be encouraged to ask questions.

Program details:

  • Thursday, February 26th
  • The Lodge at Sonoma - 1325 Broadway, 1 mile south of the Sonoma plaza.
  • The evening's schedule:
    • 6-630PM - registration and reception
    • 630PM - Opening remarks and a wine industry update from Christine Mueller, President and Dr. Liz Thach, Education Director
    • 645PM - 815PM Panel discussion moderated by Kathleen Hill
    • 815-9PM - Q&A

As with every event for 2009, we'll have a raffle or silent auction or surprise to raise money for the Napa/Sonoma Women for WineSense general scholarship fund. Good cause - and great prizes, including:

  • A one-year museum membership

  • A fantastic lot of wine

  • Hotel getaway

  • ...and more. Stay tuned to our next announcement!
