Hello!

It is pretty amazing to realize we are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year!  I know I find it VERY hard to believe! In those years the Seattle Chapter has presented over 180 events, featuring winemakers, wine educators and writers, and more, and even trips to wine regions in Washington and Oregon.  I don't think there are too many wine regions or countries we haven't featured over the years! We have seen the Washington State wine industry grow at a stunning rate, and we are so lucky to have so many wonderful wineries and tasting rooms just minutes away from where we live.

As part of the celebration, and as a thank you to our members, the wine is on us! The member price for this event only includes the dinner portion of the evening. Nonmembers will also get a slight reduction, just because it is our anniversary!

Thank you!

20th Anniversary Dinner

with

Mari Womack of Damsel Cellars

Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

6:30pm at

The PicNic Table

18672 142nd Avenue

Woodinville, Washington

Part of the mission of Women For WineSense is to support women in the wine industry, and I hope our chapter has done our part to highlight women in as many facets of the wine industry as possible. For our 20th anniversary we continue that tradition, welcoming Mari Womack of Damsel Cellars to help us celebrate our chapter's milestone.  She began focusing on her goal of opening her own winery by volunteering in tasting rooms and working in local wineries, such Darby, where she became Assistant Winemaker. When she opened Damsel Cellars in 2013 her dream became a reality, and since then, Mari has become a force to be reckoned with, garnering awards and acclaim for her wines, and gaining a well-deserved following of enthusiastic wine lovers. In making her wine, she believes in finding quality fruit, then letting the wine do what is it going to do with minimal influence. A selection of her lovely wines will be paired with a great dinner to commemorate our 20 years of wine, food, and friends!

After last year's event at The PicNic Table, the comments on the food were some of the most glowing we have received! Chef and Owner Danilo Amato, a native of Tuscany, had been catering area events as Amato Catering, but he also wanted to open a unique place to dine in the heart of Woodinville's wine tasting area. Now open about a year and a half, this cozy spot in Artisan Hill brings a bit of Mediterranean flair to our wine country. Serving both lunch and dinner, you can also choose to order a picnic to go, possibly to take to your favorite tasting room!
